Back with Rumours and Updates: 2/4

Happy Superbowl Sunday tomorrow, enjoy it, I will still be doing regular updates.

On: The Jokinen Situation
Olli Jokinen is looking for a new team. He will not negotiate contracts at all until season's end, which is when he will become a unrestricted free agent. This may force Florida to deal him now, so that they receive something rather than losing him for nothing on July 1st. Calgary remain the front-runners for Jokinen if Mike Keenan chooses the trade-route.

Sharks to sign two
The San Jose Sharks are soon to announce that they have signed both Jonathan Cheechoo and Evgeni Nabokovo. Nabokov will make 5 and a half million, Cheechoo's number is not as certain, some reports suggesting 2 and a half to 3, to a 5 year contract. The San Jose Sharks are now shopping Vesa Toskala. Vancouver may have interest, same with Edmonton.

Team USA's Taxi Squad

As said by Pierre Lebrun, it will be Paul Martin, Devils defenseman, Ryan Miller (well deserved, probably should've been on the team), Buffalo Sabres goaltender, and Matt Cullen, Florida Panthers centreman.

Olaf Kozlig also to re-sign

Sources are reporting to NTR that Olaf Kolzig will re-sign with the Washington Capitals. Working on finding contractual details. your best source for NHL trade rumours.
