Oilers pursuing Minnesota's Roloson-posted 2/20, 4:30 pm et
Edmonton Oilers general manager Kevin Lowe is pursuing Minnesota Wild goaltender Dwayne Roloson, an Edmonton source is reporting. The Minnesota Wild have two goaltenders capable of the starting role in Roloson and Manny Fernandez, and have been said to be shopping Roloson. Edmonton is looking for goaltending as they hope to hold on to the 8th position in the West. Jussi Markkanen is Edmonton's current starter, but has been playing below average recently, and has never shown the true signs of a number one goaltender.

Leafs, Canucks Looking at Rathje-posted 2/20, 8:00 am et
Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Mike Rathje may be moved by deadline day, a Philadelphia source is reporting. Rathje's salary is high, and if the Flyers want to buy on deadline day, they currently do not have the cap room to do so. However, if they can move off Rathje, it will open up space for playoff additions, such as Mark Parrish, who they have said to have interest in. Interest is reported out of Toronto
and Vancouver for Rathje. The Leafs had interest in signing him in the summer as a UFA, but it obviously wasn't done. Vancouver is currently avidly shopping for defense, and have had reports of interest in St. Louis' Eric Weinrich, and Chicago's Jassen Cullimore.

let's go for him.

i really like his size+physical aspects.

he is stellar defensively, and we lack that.

I would like Rathje here.

We need the physical prescence without Jovanovski, plus, he isn't half-bad on the offensive side of things.

I don't think we can rely on markkanen for the playoffs, and it'll be awful to be stuck with him after the deadline if he keeps playing as he is.

Rathje hasn't be great, and it'd be worth it to clear the room for a reechi or parrish.

rathje isn't exactly necessary, i much rather see reechi in a flyer uniform for the playoffs.
