Big Rumour Report: Joseph to Edmonton All But Done
A reliable source in the Toronto area reports that the Edmonton Oilers have worked out a deal during the Olympic break to acquire Phoenix Coyotes' goaltender Curtis Joseph. He reports the deal as "all but done." Not a lot of word on what could be headed the other way.. but expect picks and/or depth/prospects. The source is also reporting that the Patrick Lalime-Ottawa Senators rumours are false.

Senators pursuing goaltenders… not Lalime
The latest talk in Sens land is that general manager John Muckler will now ironically be forced to re-acquire goaltender Patrick Lalime. However, sources are reporting that Lalime is an unlikely possibility, as it’s more likely Mucker looks towards a goaltender in better form, with a lesser salary. Lalime’s salary is sitting at 2 and a half million dollars, and even with St. Louis picking up half of it, Muckler would still be better off looking more towards someone like Vesa Toskala, whose salary is a mere 680K. Also, if Muckler chooses the cheaper route in Toskala, he may be able to add a centerman, which had been reported as a non-possibility with the new need to acquire goaltending. Once again, Muckler has been expressing interest in Florida’s Olli Jokinen, and St. Louis’ Keith Tkachuk.

AWESOME

I know what Joseph is capable of. And our chances for success this offseason just improved.

Is this serious enough to announce cujo as an unofficial member of the oilers?

hmm Toskala looks perfect.

Especially with that 680 K salary. He's perfect if we want to add some offesne as well.

weve seen cujo here before, he was brilliant, and I think he'll have the determination of returning to play like his self of old.

Toskala would be ideal... if we could bring in jokinen by bringing him in.. i think he's the best (consistent wise) goaltender available, and the cheapest.

Wow. I'm likely the only american on the site, but spelling rumors rumours warrants that.

I found this site on a link somewhere. Looks good and reliable. Like the bloggers you have here. Some names I even recognize from down here. Keep up the good work.

Also, I think its safe to say CuJo's stint in Phoenix is over.
