Vancouver to make serious push for defense- posted 2/6, 7:30 pm et
With Ed Jovanovski's injury situation being worse than expected, and the 29-year-old out for a now minimum of 8 weeks, the Vancouver Canucks are now desprate to bolster their blueline. The two targets are currently the Washington Capitals' Brendan Witt, who had requested a trade earlier in the season, and Keith Carney, who has been rumoured to be on his way out of Anaheim. Another name to mention is Pittsburgh's Ric Jackman.

Available goaltenders that could go on or before trade deadline
Curtis Joseph, Dwayne Roloson, Jose Theodore, Nikolai Khabibulin (a tough ticket to sell at $6.75 million a season) and possibly Andrew Raycroft. Teams looking for goaltending include Edmonton, Vancouver, and possibly Toronto.
