Rumours: 2/8

RUMOURS:

Vancouver particularly interested in Minnesota's Roloson-posted on 2/8, 8:30 pm et
It is said that general manager Dave Nonis is most interested in goaltender Dwayne Roloson of the Minnesota Wild. Vancouver is looking for goaltending, and Minnesota looking to move one of Roloson or Manny Fernandez, who are both becoming unrestricted free agents come July 1st. Fernandez is the younger of the two, and has been the goaltender of choice this season. Minnesota is looking to improve the offensive side of their game. It is said that Roloson has the best combination of salary and playing form. Joseph, another goaltender said to be available, has a cheap pricetag, but has been out of form recently. This makes Roloson an attractive option for Dave Nonis, as he can be used for the remainder of the season and possibly the playoffs, and then let go in the summer to bring back in Dan Cloutier.

Definitely what I would want in Vancouver. Especially just as a temp goalie.

vancouver needs goaltending for the playoffs. I like Roloson, he would be a fine choice.

As a Edmonton fan, it doesn't at all matter who it is that Vancouver gets. YOU NEED A DOMINANT GOALTENDER TO GO ANYWHERE IN THE PLAYOFFS. No goaltender avaiable is able.

Hi- thanks for responding everyone.

Brendan Witt, at this point, does have interest in becoming a Maple Leaf, however still has many other destinations he would consider. He does want to move to a winning team, and Vancouver, who have great interest in adding defensive depth with Jovanovski out, offers more in that department. Right now I would put Vancouver as the front runner.

I do believe Nonis should make a run for Roloson, he is a quality goaltender who has consistently and quietly put up great numbers.

Also, go after Witt. Solid defensive d-man, i think adequate replacement for Jovanovski, at least temporarily.
