Ozolinsh to the Rangers?
The New York Rangers are getting very close to acquiring Anaheim Mighty Ducks defenseman Sandis Ozolinsh. Stay tuned...

Atlanta Interested in McAmmond
The Atlanta Thrashers have interest in Dean McAmmond and are talking to St. Louis about a deal for him.

Comrie close to being dealt

Comrie is very close to being dealt by the Phoenix Coyotes. Sources have mentioned that the Nashville Predators, Ottawa Senators have interest. We will have to wait and see.

Oilers looking at Samsonov, Drake
According to sources, the Edmonton Oilers are keenly looking at obtaining Sergei Samsonov from the Bruins. Boston is said to be looking for young core players. One has to think that the asking price will not be outrageous since Samsonov could be gone after July 1st any ways. In addition, Carolina sees him as a good replacement for Erik Cole. Montreal is also in the mix, with the cap room they opened up with the Theodore move last night. Also, according to recent reports, Edmonton is trying to land Dallas Drake currently of the St. Louis Blues. Indications are that it could happen very soon.

Recchi on the move
Mark Recchi wants to be moved to a contender. Currently he is discussing with GM Patrick about waiving his no-trade clause and seems to have a lot of input as to where he will be headed. Carolina, Philadelphia, and Ottawa are all enquiring about obtaining Mr. Recchi's services. Stay tuned folks!

Leafs, Sens after Malone
Ottawa Senators general manager is currently trying to work out a deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins to acquire center Ryan Malone. Muckler has had a need to add a centerman for a while now, and will look to address that today. Apparently they will have to send a youngster and a pick to get the 26-year-old. While the Toronto Maple Leafs also have interest in Ryan Malone, and apparently are offering forward Nik Antropov and prospect/pick (s).

Witt to Nashville all but done, and more
A Nashville source contacted me just minutes ago and reports that Brendan Witt is about to be a Nashville Predator. He reports a deal will be announced in the next few hours. He adds that general manager David Poile is working on a deal for Phoenix's Mike Comrie, and adds that David Legwand may be involved.

Feaster looking for goaltending
There may not be a man more desprate for goaltending at this time than Tampa Bay general manager Jay Feaster. A Tampa Bay source reports he could be working on something major, to bring in a true number one. Anaheim's J-S Giguere is the name that continues to come up, and the word is that they might be willing to send slumping forward Martin St. Louis in return. However, the Anaheim Mighty Ducks are only 3 points out of a playoff spot, and Burke will likely keep the goaltender.

Jokinen not expected to move
I contacted a Florida source and he gave me the latest with Jokinen: the Panthers probably will end up keeping him, because they won't get much more than picks for him, since the three teams most interested -- Nashville, Ottawa and Calgary -- aren't looking to give him $5 to $6 million a season long term and will thus want to just rent him. Considering they're looking at him as a rental, they won't want to give up much. And picks back for Olli not only won't be considered equal value by the Panthers, it wouldn't be worth the PR firestorm they'll endure. So unless some team decides to give up a big name, say Ottawa offering up Martin Havlat for Olli, I see him staying put.” Don't be overly surprised if Jokinen remains a Panther at 3 pm today.

Clarke looking at Gauthier and Kuba
Philadelphia Flyers general manager Bobby Clarke will add defense by 3:00 pm, reports a source. He is currently looking into the situation Denis Gauthier, and is also contacting the Minnesota Wild about Filip Kuba and Andrei Zyuzin. Clarke had interest in Derek Morris, however the Coyotes have re-signed the defenseman long-term, negating the trade possibility. The source adds that Clarke is still interested in Mark Recchi on the offensive side of things. your best source for NHL trade rumours.
