Rumours: 3/4

http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=nhl+trade+rumours&meta=
It's up to Keenan
Olli Jokinen doesn't want to be traded. He just wants $5-6 million dollars per season is all. A Florida source reports that its decision time for general manager Mike Keenan. Jokinen has been quoted by many media sources saying that he doesn't see why a contract agreement has to be met by deadline day; that the deal can be negotiated closer to July 1st. But the source reports that Keenan can. Keenan neither dealing Jokinen or re-signing him by deadline day leaves him in a very tough situation. It risks losing Jokinen for nothing. However, a Toronto source is reporting that Keenan is going to go as far as it takes to keep the franchise centerman in Florida. This will be very interesting situation to follow.

Lowe may make pitch at Belfour
A Toronto source reports that general manager Kevin Lowe has been closely watching as the Toronto Maple Leafs slip further and further away from a playoff spot, and is contacting Leafs GM John Ferguson about goaltender Ed Belfour's availability. If the Leafs continue to slip further out of the playoff picture, moving Belfour is something Ferguson will consider. Other exits would likely include forward Jason Allison.

Fernandez re-signing sure sign of Roloson's departure
With Minnesota Wild general manager Doug Risebrough re-signing goaltender Manny Fernandez to a new multi-year deal, a source is reporting that Dwayne Roloson's days as a member of the Wild are numbered. The source reports that this is a "sure sign of Roloson's departure." He labels Vancouver as a team that will likely make a pitch at Roloson, and possibly the Ottawa Senators.

Kings pursuing Witt
Los Angeles Kings general manager Dave Taylor is currently talking to the Washington Capitals about the services of defenseman Brendan Witt, reports a source. Los Angeles is looking "for a solid defensive defenseman," and Witt fits the bill perfectly. With the wide interest in Witt, the source reports that Taylor is also looking at Anaheim's Keith Carney.

we have such a good chance to win this year that I really wouldn't care if he was a rental. also, if we can get jokinen I would just try to move havlat in the summer to get the room to re-sign jokinen.

No, No, No, No heatley15.

This team is the hands on favourite this year, and will likely be the same next year, and the follow year, and likely the year after that. It's not like its now or never for us. Plus, I feel if we can add goaltending and maybe some defensive depth, we'll be ready.

Taylor's team is slipping down the standings, and they need to do something.

Witt or Carney sound good, I would also look at a big offensive addition as well in perhaps Jokinen or even Bertuzzi if he is availabe.

Hahaha.

Well, a few Toronto sources do, I'm just reporting what I hear. Plus, just because Lowe may make an attempt, doesn't necessary mean a deal will happen.

Also, Pharmacist, when did I ever disagree?

What I recall saying was: If the Leafs are far out of the playoff picture, then Belfour would be moved.

Looking like that may be happening.

good news!!!!!!!

there is no point in moving jokinen considering other teams would know they would have to throw the 6mil to him. they wouldn't get an appropriate return for him.
